The Cat Syndrome

Cri-Du-Chat, also known as The Cat syndrome, is a rare disease that is mostly found in female infants of all ethnic back rounds. This disease is caused by a shortage of the chromosome 5.Cri-u-Chat was discovered by a French doctor in 1963. His name was Dr. Jerome Lejeume. This disease causes many different disabilities. One disability is that the infant has a high pitched cry that sounds like a cat meowing. Also, the infant will be very light weighted. It will also cause growing problems. Another disability is the infant will have distinct and unusual facial features. The baby will also have feeding problems. Right now, there is no cure or treatment for Cri-Du-Chat. There are two tests that can be executed to tell whether or not the infant has Cri-Du-Chat,but these are the only tests that can be done and they do not cure or treat the infants Cri-Du-Chat disease.
